Trump trade adviser Peter Navarro issues memo warning of pandemic.

From the NYT (story dated 4/7/20): “The lack of immune protection or an existing cure or vaccine would leave Americans defenseless in the case of a full-blown coronavirus outbreak on U.S. soil,” Mr. Navarro’s memo said. “This lack of protection elevates the risk of the coronavirus evolving into a full-blown pandemic, imperiling the lives of millions of Americans.”

According to the Times: "In one worst-case scenario cited in the memo, more than a half-million Americans could die."

Trump says a vaccine will be available soon: “Now they have it, they have studied it, they know very much, in fact, we’re very close to a vaccine.”

Trump: “It’s going to disappear. One day, it’s like a miracle, it will disappear.”

3/9/20
Trump: “The Fake News Media and their partner, the Democratic Party, is doing everything within its semi-considerable power . . . to inflame the CoronaVirus situation.”

Trump: “So last year 37,000 Americans died from the common Flu. It averages between 27,000 and 70,000 per year. Nothing is shut down, life & the economy go on. At this moment there are 546 confirmed cases of CoronaVirus, with 22 deaths. Think about that.”
