I had move down here before my Dad pass. I was only 8 miles away, so I got to see him a ton but was also taking care of a sick wife.

My dad last wish was always to die in his house. He only suffered for a week at home but all of his surviving kids got to spend time with him. My mom passed 4 years before, but my family truly believed she waited for her baby boy (me) to say his goods byes. She died right after many of my siblings and my dad finish saying the Hail Mary prayer. They were married for 62 years and had eight kids.

Again, I am sorry for your loss. I love talking to you because it seem we had two cools dads where they were both engineers. My dad was a Chemical engineer.

I will tell you a funny story about my dad.

The day before he died my baby sister, her husband, and their two girls along with I was there beside his bed. I said we needed to give him one last toast because he was really out of it. I went and got the grand marnier and poured 5 shots for everyone. I pour a quarter shot glass to rub his lips with.

My sister spoke first, then my brother in law etc. He woke up as my sister started speaking and with a shaking hand push her arm away to get his shot. We all spoke and took our shots. He did to.

My sister thought we just killed him. I told her if we did, that is the way he would want to go.

He recovered from the shot. He was wide awake and thank us for such a nice toast and went back to sleep. He died the next day.
