in 2012 that I could live with Mitt. After all, he expanded healthcare (he had to veer right in the primary), and he came from a religion, imo, that although kooky, would have had a strong balance of duty toward the poor and under served from the values taught and learned in Mormon mission.

I do think he could have beaten Hillary (I'm not sure I'd have thought so in 2016, tbh) as Donald did. I was dreading the constant drama of a Hillary Presidency (which I now think would pale to the drama we have). I think many other people felt that way too. The Comey presser was the last straw, I think.

One thing for sure---bad political instincts aside, Mitt has navigated past duties very thoughtfully and well both in and out of government.
