Looked at the numbers earlier, as a % of GDP, we were #3 on a normalized basis (interesting enough, Japan had spent more than anyone else - at least according to a Statista chart - I didn't get a chance to look at the underlying data). We were almost 2x Germany and an even higher multiple for the rest of the EU. And I think this is far from over (others will probably need to continue to spend too).

This is the greatest failure of theDonald relying on hope v strategy. The return on the investments we've made, in hard dollars and everything else that came with "the lockdown" is abysmal. That said, our leader's track record as a private citizen is probably not great in this respect either. He's built a brand he can monetize (like the Kardashians), but doesn't seem to have achieved much else (then again, we've never seen the numbers). Really though. How much has this guy cost our taxpayers? How much has he cost our children and grandchildren?

We need to pay more attention to this, and demand more accountability from everyone involved. We have invested so much, and gotten so little in return. We can point the finger in a million different directions, but the buck needs to stop at the top (and, quite frankly, I think he's the driving force behind our failure).

On another note, just watched the full Axios interview. Even worse than I thought in many respects. Should be required viewing for anyone casting a vote - he's pathetic.
