Not saying that I’m in favor of such a level.
As someone else said it’s a fairly low priority for me right now. However we do have a bit of a national fiscal emergency. We had to shut down our economy it hasn’t fully reopened and we may have to shut it down again. Tax revenue is going to be important.We haven’t had anything close to a balance budget since the turn of the century, and we’ve had two major tax cuts in a recession/depression before this one. There ain’t no rainy day fund to drawn on. But I agree that some level of tax increases could hurt more than they help
