Did Washington ever take an oath of loyalty & military service to England?

Not that I'm aware of. At least today officers take an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. According to something I just googles, Lee and Jackson swore

“that I will bear true allegiance to the United States of America, and that I will serve them honestly and faithfully against all their enemies or opposers whatsoever”

But yeah, there's that pesky detail about fighting for slavery. So somebody like John Brown is probably seen in a different light than Lee or Jackson.
