Allowing early voting, especially this early is just dumb and there's no


reason for it. I could die tomorrow. Trump could die tomorrow. Trump could be indicted tomorrow. And yet my vote would be cast and counted. Even if I'm dead. (settle down death wishers, I'm not planning on going anywhere)

I'm typically in favor of efforts to make voting as easy as possible, and I could even understand some early voting to alleviate some of the inexcusably long lines we've seen in the past (saves a state costs for more machines). Maybe even a little earlier than normal this year for Covid to minimize crowds. But allowing voting 2 mos early makes no sense. I would even be on board with voting in person over multiple days rather than just 1.

What I can't explain is why it seems it's the Dems that push for this. Or why the GOP pushes against it. Not sure why either party thinks they benefit or get harmed by it more than the other.
