As for how much UBER drivers make -- it is a thriving business in LA, at least. People use it all the time (at least pre-COVID). There is a growing number of younger people, for example, who don't even bother to get driver's licenses because they just prefer to UBER. Other people are just getting rid of their cars and UBERing everywhere.

I think drivers have good times and bad times, but given how many people drive -- and they all seem really happy when I talk to them about their gigs -- it must be somewhat profitable.
