That would not only make other results moot but signal an historic shift.


I remember seeing someone do an analysis of this after the 2012 election, talking about how GA, TX and AZ were undergoing dramatic demographic changes that would make them more likely to vote for Democratic candidates in the future; at the time they were saying 10 years or more. Now look at this year. AZ will probably vote for Biden (Clinton only lost it by 3 points) and elect a second Democratic senator. GA is vulnerable and if long lines at the polls are any indication that race could come down to the wire on election night. Then the big prize, TX, as you correctly note. If Biden were to pull off TX all other results on election night would be practically rendered moot.

I'm not hanging my hat on it. The first big state to pay attention to is probably FL. Biden wins that there's likely no way Trump wins either.
