If he continues to gain support from nonwhite working class, while...


...continuing to lose support from educated whites, then the hypothesis is that at the end of the day the division will be by education/income not by race/ethnicity. Evidently a growing number of nonwhite voters find Trump at least acceptable.

I'm not sure I buy it. Far too early to tell and even with the shifts the Democrats still have big majorities among nonwhites. But it is interesting that after decades of trying, Trump seems to be the only GOP candidate who has been able to grow the party's support among nonwhite voters--an especially remarkable fact (if true) given that he is generally regarded by opponents to be a racist/white supremacist.
