Which is a completely different assertion than the electoral process


That gave him to us is illegitimate. That’s Trump’s claim now, and he has the extremely dubious distinction of being the first president to ever make that claim.

It is fitting that the great destroyer of all American institutions would make this his swan song. He is not saying that Biden is illegitimate. He is saying that the American electoral process is illegitimate. There is no analogy to that in American history - not in 2016, in 1792, or any year in between.

Why? Because in doing so the president of the US is saying that the US is illegitimate.
