Maher is not stupid but he's also arrogant. It clouds his judgement.

He thought Trump was winning in 2019. In Oct. 2020, Maher thought Trump would lose BIG. Maher is good at making grandiose comments with confidence. That's good for entertainment. However, he's not in touch with America.
