I never disputed that Democrats didn't need to be better. That said ...

the GOP is hardly a lock in 2024 as you suggest. Their party is even in more disjointed trying to contain Trump. Ultimately, both parties need to come towards the middle without alienating the crazy fringe in their parties. Judging from this election, the Democrats have an easier road ... especially without having to deal with a madman who wields so much influencr. Both parties have a lot of work to do.
