What it really means when you say you’ve applied “common sense”. You are a human being who evolved like the rest of us, and we have not evolved to effectively process the barrage of info we are hit with nowadays. And certainly not the psychological games played to hold our attention.

There is no wall between common sense and outside influences in any of our minds. So when your “common sense” is leading you straight to a conclusion pushed very prominently by a “machine” with an agenda, you should be cynical about that.

We’re all vulnerable to that, and understanding that vulnerability will be step 1 in developing greater media literacy in this environment.
