Being outside is low-risk, but it's not no-risk


Even including passing encounters. I'm glad you're as confident as you are, but that confidence shouldn't deter someone from taking every precaution within reason (and I emphasize those last two words). It's not about people being misinformed - it's about making each situation in which you have no control over most variables as low-risk as possible.

Going outside lowers the risk. Staying six feet apart lowers the risk even more. Wearing a mask lowers the risk even more than that. These are not unreasonable actions, and they shouldn't be dismissed as "pointless."
