on. We have to wear them all the time at my gym but my wife found these little plastic spacers that you put inside the mask and it keeps the fabric off your face. Necessary for cardio work in the gym, but unnecessary on a walk. But I find it makes it so there's no impedance at all, zero, to your breathing, on a walk, so with that in place I just walk around with the mask on whether someone's near or not.

In the parks and bike paths near me, someone's within 6 feet of me every minute or so...but on the sidewalks and streets I sometimes go 5 minutes without being in a 6 ft range. At home in Fauquier, of course, I wouldn't wear one around my dad's place or the dirt roads nearby.
