start to run into places where the government can act (and/or where you implement some type of "ignore the guidelines and go to the back of the line for care" type deal), but 1) that hasn't really happened and 2) if you look at places that are doing tons vs little (say, Cali vs Florida), there's not a lot of support for the measures being taken either 1) because they don't work or 2) because people won't follow them -- whichever the reason, the effect is the same. NY is doing well, but they already had a huge outbreak -- it's likely because it's harder to spread Covid in NY than it is elsewhere. Unless we start vaccinating quickly, that's not really a formula that can be replicated elsewhere.
