Why does anyone think this is complicated? Trump is in charge of DC nation

guard. Trump is responsible for all other federal law enforcement. Trump would be responsible for asking for / allowing MD law enforcement to provide backup.

It is very easy to see what happened. Trump (and his lackey) didn’t have any extra security around the capital because he didn’t want it. He was non-responsive about backup because he was so excited that a handful of his idiot followers were trying to keep him in power. Frankly, I am sure he was fantasizing that he was about to be kept in power by the mob.

Trump only allowed backup once it was clear that it was only a handful of unarmed fools in Viking hats that had no chance and it was over.
