Where is the line on job hiring?
Should a business be open to hiring someone with a Confederate flag bumper sticker to park out front every day? Should a company hire someone who believes the QAnon conspiracy theories and talks about them in the break room? If you were running a business would you hire a self-described Communist to keep the books?
At some point what you call political beliefs stop being differences of opinion and start simply being viewpoints that are unacceptable in our society. A lot of people recoiled from the GOP because they saw that a big chunk of the party was heading towards what they viewed as unacceptable ideas (anti-democracy, support for authoritarians, racism, etc). The past week is the culmination of that. You are still free to have whatever beliefs you want and free to speak about them in public, but, as has always been the case, those beliefs and actions don't free you from consequences in the free market economy and polite society.
