11% of the eligible population does not have a government backed photo ID
One might say -- well they can get one. But one would also say when you require it, you will lose a ton of voters. If you want to call them lazy go for it but the Constitution never said you can't be a lazy voter.
The question is - what problem are you trying to solve by requiring it?
On the surface it makes sense, you should need an ID, but when the system is already working when an ID is not always required, why change it? We just had the best turnout election of all time and we had the most recounted and audited election of all time, without any real fraud uncovered. I just don't understand it. We should be celebrating the system, not changing it.
