I know part of the answer. First of all, yes, Israel must defend

itself against these attacks and Palestinians must be killed to enable that security. Like all the times before this, they will do so and then things will go back to a short period of relative calm.

However, part of the long term answer is to remove the settlements and give the Palestinians land security. Israel is in the absolute position of power, and they are using that position to take land from where the Palestinians live. Like I said in another post, it's like a boa constrictor slowly sucking out all life from the Palestinians. I'm betting that 90% of the people here would be on the side of the "terrorists" if they were born into that situation as Palestinians.
