Watching from a distance it feels like Hillary vs Trump in 2016. Stole
that from another poster from a few days back, but it resonated. In both cases you have a career politician running for office more with a sense of entitlement than a passion for the job. Both cases have that politician with a "foot in mouth" moment that seemed to turn the tide. And in both cases you sort of have Trump on the other side of the ballot -- either Trump himself, or a candidate trying to walk a tightrope of not pissing off Trump voters but also not being too much of a Trumper himself.
My money is on Youngkin. I don't think he will be a horrible governor (not that the governor of Virginia matters to me), but I just hate that Trumpism will get a boost from this.
