"deficit totaling $367 billion over the 2022-2031 period"

are the exact words. So what does that even mean really? Is that the cumulative increase over that time period? While I don't necessarily love signing up for new spending programs, we should be intellectually honest about what we're talking about here and put it into context.

In that spirit, Donald Trump nearly doubled the budget deficit between 2016 and 2019 to almost $1t (that's a T). I'll give him a pass for 2020. What would the annual impact of this look like in comparison? Will anyone attempt to find savings (we did just end a "war" that was costing us a ton..).

Clearly there is a lot to digest here, but just throwing a huge number out there without really isn't helpful either. Then again, that should be Sleepy Joe's job...
