Triaging individuals based on known risk factors would be a start

Since we now know that the vaccinated can readily transmit the virus and we've all but abandoned the idea that vaccines alone can induce herd immunity, it is increasingly clear that what little political capital the public health bureaucracy has left is being blown on steps that will have incremental and indirect benefits on lowering deaths - things like vaccinating kids, expanding boosters to teens, requiring vaccinations of those who have almost certainly acquired natural immunity, etc.
If preventing deaths is the goal, then 100% of the focus should be on the following:
-Achieving 100% vaccination rates among those 65 and over who are able to tolerate the vaccine.
-Achieving 100% vaccination rates among at-risk groups, particularly diabetics and the morbidly obese.
-Create incentives to ensure 100% of the fully vaccinated people in all of the aforementioned demographics receive boosters no later than 6 months after their second doses of Pfizer and first doses of J&J in particular.
-Maybe make some kind of effort to get booster rates among Black and Hispanic seniors to even half as high as the rate among caucasian seniors as opposed to their current level of less than 1/7th.
-Acknowledge overwhelming research that shows vaccine efficacy is boosted by longer intervals between doses.
Political scapegoating in social media and shaming in the workplace seems to be easier than the sort of boots-on-the-ground effort any of these steps would require. It would help if the follow-the-science crew actually attempted to follow current science as opposed to 18-months-old science and old wives' tales.
