A primary reason we have seatbelt and helmet laws is to lessen the

burden on others in society for significantly higher medical costs associated with accidents when people are not wearing these things. Why do you think they otherwise exist? COVID has placed enormous burdens on our system in multiple real ways, not the least of which has been sheer mental and physical stress on front line health care workers and hospitals. Anecdotally, I have a family member who just had a cancer surgery postponed because of resource issues with the hospital managing COVID patients in Idaho. These are real events. We now have a safe and effective way to change that equation. It is perfectly logical to weigh this fact alone -- seperate from what most do also believe is real benefit helping with transmission.

You often ask about anything you are stating that could possibly be incorrect. Virtually all of your arguments require the belief of at least two underlying assumptions that you often repeat.

One is that vaccines in general are really only effective if they form some near-perfect protective dome around an individual and also halt any possible transmission. This is not a correct way to ever evaluate the value of a vaccine. If some politician on any side of the aisle claims otherwise, they are mistaken.

Two is that you rely on an argument about the inherent danger of the vaccine itself. While nobody is claiming there is a 0.00% chance of extremely rare but more serious side effects, every ounce of analysis is showing this to be an extremely safe vaccine. You are simply wrong imo as are others by claiming otherwise and talking about significant vaccine dangers.

You can still argue against mandates from a philosophical standpoint and there are always some who argue against school mandates today for ANY vaccine. I am sure there are those who also find seatbelt and helmet laws too paternalistic as well and therefore shouldn't exist. But these are generally poor arguments and as noted almost always based on some combination of incorrect information such as wrong safety data or vaccine efficacy and beneficial effects in numerous ways.

Obviously will have to agree to disagree, but trying to do it in a way to at least help you realize it isn't all about "politics" or insults -- it is a sincere suggestion that you aren't thinking about some of the implications and at least one of us is simply wrong on some safety and efficacy analysis.
