There were the blood clot cases related to the non mRna vaccines, but there has not been another report of which I am aware about person(s) getting sick and dying from the vaccine. And many (many) are looking for anything. This is not to say there can't be side effects, but if you "know" one who died -- there must surely be others.

Of course there are people who have become ill or had other serious things happen in close proximity to receiving the vaccine. But given the hundreds of millions of doses in this country alone and literal billions worldwide, there is going to be virtually every kind of incident that happens in some percentage close to the vaccine just based on daily statistics. However, people are looking very closely at all reports for any sign of a bump of anything at all as well as looking at specific incidents (this is how we learned of the myocarditis issue) -- so you saying with confidence that you know of someone who died from the vaccine - you should elaborate and certainly this should be reported to the VAERS system trying to track all issues as well. There is also a vaccine compensation structure.
