Russia could overplay it’s hand though. Their economy is almost completely reliant on oil and gas, which is tenuous footing and getting more so as the world slowly turns green. If Europe and the US really coordinate well, and come up with alternatives to Gazprom if it shuts Europe off, economic sanctions could do a lot of damage.

But Trump, Biden, Obama, NATO all share one thing - none of them are going to war over Ukraine.
