In the crapper, I’d say it’s Covid and inflation, and which order depends on the day’s headlines. I think it is fair to call them issues 1 and 1A.

Makes no difference what differing opinions about responsibility for the problems are. When it comes to this upcoming election, those will be hung around dem necks, because they are in charge, however narrowly.

Of course if things improve in ways we may not expect right now, which is possible, then that could change. But I’d put the odds a good deal better than 50% that these will be big repub winners in October.
