On one hand, they are dictating the battlefield to the Russians currently, and there's something to be said about not abandoning the tactical advantage. But you're right, there is no easy next step.

I'm wondering if they do something like Operation Killer in Korea- basically a slow, broad front advance to grind up as many of the untrained conscripts as they can. Goal would be to destroy enemy supplies and personnel, instead of taking back lots of lost ground. But hey, I'm just a history major/armchair general.
