They've been looking at this for a long, long time and still no evidence of collusion. I think a lot of the circumstantial stuff is ridiculous as well- he's soft on Assad, Russia in Ukraine, has business ties to Russia, etc. That's all easily understandable.

I could be totally 100% wrong, and I definitely support continuing the investigation. Make it an independent commission. There's just not enough yet to make me suspicious there is collusion. Overly zealous Democrats invoking Nixon and calling this a Constitutional crisis (not the first time that's been mentioned) makes them look silly imo, but their base demands it and I'm not sure it matters. The more reasonable responses from Manchin and Feinstein play a lot better to me personally, but maybe full freakout really is the better response politically.
