didn't really state that, but you do (IN involved in recruiting, Coal country leaders don't have vision) and we've been seeing this from business leaders (and pols) for years now - we have jobs, but not workers trained to do them. I don't understand that mentality. When did it become Govco's role to provide specialty trained employees? Or pick winners (those getting tax breaks/incentives) and losers (those already there having to pick up the burden without such breaks) to address employment levels? (I realize the poop is out of that donkey and Govcos do this all the time, but I still don't like it or think it's wise)

Seems pretty clear cut to me, the solution is a combination of:

- pay higher salaries to help attract people away from the urban areas they are choosing to live now (if you can attract folks to the Dakotas to frack, surely you can get them to N. Indiana - "we're just haggling over price").

- Move or expand production to areas with higher UE be it Coal Country or wherever, where presumably you'll be able to pay lower salaries to attract people.

- Train your own damn employees. What happened to OTJ training? Why should a taxpayer in AZ or even Southern Indiana be picking up any of the tab for these folks to fill their jobs with trained employees? (admittedly the article does point out efforts this particular company is making)

I'm just not seeing why Govco should have any role in this matter.
