Hepatitis C isn't your typical STI


It's almost exclusively passed through blood-to-blood contact. High risk sexual acts, plus a concurrent HIV infection, can increase the possibility of transmission, but it's still exceptionally low.

And as you pointed out, Hep C isn't exactly curable either. Have to have the right genotype or have insurance that covers the newer treatment. It's also a virus that you can spontaneously clear yourself.
