What's this?

He was able to so, not because there aren't laws in place but rather

because of dropped balls. He was supposedly under psychiatric care until relatively recently when he stopped going. If his care professional felt he was threat to himself or others, why was it not reported? Being deemed a threat to oneself or others would have barred him from purchasing the gun legally. His desire to be a "professional school shooter" was reported to the FBI. The FBI claims they could not link his post back to a him despite his posting under his real name...also, I find it difficult to believe that the FBI does not have the cyber tools to investigate such things. Hell, civilian cyber-sleuths track ip addresses all day long. He apparently walked into the school (a "no gun" zone) with a gun with little to no problem...another failure.
