Well


A sensor could be hardened inside an inaccessible part of the gun body where you'd really have to work to deactivate it. Doable for folks who modify their weapons, perhaps, but not for ordinary folks who decide to get impulsive.

It also would do absolutely nothing about the millions of guns currently in circulation
