However, the other potential limitations could be solved. If you disable it then a notification would instantly be sent out to authorities kind of like the ankle bracelets worn by those under house arrest. Or maybe its not a gps but a device similar to those used by stores to prevent shoplifting. No batteries needed but would require more front end expenditures. Handling the guns that are already out there truly would require a more draconian approach. You want to keep your assaulr rifle then you have to have it fitted with device. choose not to then pay fine or surrender it. This wouldn't infringe on peoples 2nd amendment rights. My overall point is that we have the technology to implement solutions if we so choose.
