Wasn’t it the 1705 slave act?

I thought Bacon was about Berkely’s failure to protect western settlers (in the wilds southeast of Varina, where Bacon’s Curles Neck plantation lay) from the Native raids. I didn’t remember being taught anything about black and white indentured servants/slaves being behind it or united by it; I thought it was a west vs east thing, a frontier vs civilization deal. But rich persons vs other rich persons.

I’m a little puzzled by this and definitely need to read up.

  Yes, 1705 not 1805. -- Chuck Taylor 02/23/2018 2:31PM
