I don't think that's right KC. There is focus on bullying - because in

a way, with social media, it has never been worse, and for the victims, never been more impossible to escape. When we were kids, the bullies couldn't get to you when you were home. Now they can. No escape. So yeah, there is focus on it, but I think you are kidding yourself if you think kids are any different than they've ever been.

Staying away from kids who are trouble is completely different from characterizing a kid as "weird". Or perhaps mentally ill. I think in this case it sounded more like that. Which certainly is another risk factor in kids turning violent - either against themselves or others.

Doesn't mean I can know if this shooter was bullied and if bullying played any role. Whatever - I fully support all the focus on bullying. But not to the exclusion of gun control. Just because the NRA set wants to seize on anything in their grasp to say "see? the problem is this - we don't have to worry about easy access to guns!", doesn't mean that we should play into that and deny that there are other problems at play. Of course there are. The vast, vast majority of kids would pick up a fully locked and loaded AK47 in a crowded school yard and hand it over to the first cop they saw. Goes without saying that the one who picks it up, points at others and pulls the trigger has serious issues.
