His judicial philosophy (if you can really call “Originalism” a philosophy
is pretty far from the mainstream, and he will be an aggressive “activist” from the bench. He will prove hostile on issues that matter and will affect tens of millions of lives. He will be quite friendly to large businesses that want to strike down democratically passed laws and regulations as unconstitutional, religious fundamentalists who want to flout the Establishment Clause or regulate people’s reproductive choices and educations to their beliefs, Republicans who want to disenfranchise voters in elections and deregulate campaign finance even further, etc.
No, he doesn’t strike me as a fundamentally bad human being like Donald Trump, but that shouldn’t be the basis for anyone’s objection to him. But there isn’t much the feckless Dems can do at this point. They shit the bed in November 2016.
