Regardless, I think I've changed my position based on some quick google research. I think drawing the draconian punishment line at 0.15 makes sense. Here's a study shat shows more than 2/3 of alcohol impaired related traffic fatalities involve a BAC of 0.15 or greater. That's where the real menace to society is. Sloppy drunk people getting behind the wheel and killing. That doesn't mean I don't favor harsh (i.e. current level) penalties for "buzzed" driving (above current 0.08 threshold), I just think once you get above 0.15... no excuse. I'd even go to 1 year in jail on first offense. With Uber and RedCab, there is no excuse whatsoever for driving at that level of drunkenness and you have no one to blame but yourself if you spend a year in jail and lose your car for doing so.
