Obama acknowledged the hacks - right after Election Day - and began an investigation (to cries of foul and sore loser from Trump and his prancing Trumpies), admitting the admin knew about it during the campaign, but they erred on the side of not appearing to tip the scales away from Trump. An approach based on principle, not partisan interest.

Still, Trumpies cried foul then, fake news, you just want to delegitimize Trump’s win. But yeah, you’d have appreciated it if o launched steps during the campaign. And ever since, Trumpies fall over themselves screaming bias in the fbi against Trump (and the fbi is part of the admin), even though it was very public about hill’s server, and silent about Russia. Now that these indictments put weight to the Russian interference, you scream that o didn’t do enough.

A lol wouldn’t begin to cover what a joke that is. This isn’t intended as a defense of o. But o did what he did, which is now a sunk cost and irrelevant to dealing with this going forward.

Trump just engages in his demagoguery, now blaming o for the interference he had called fake news. And offers no indication of interest in supporting steps to hold the Russians accountable for what they allegedly did, and preventing it in the future.

To say nothing of the way Trump rooted the Russians on during the election. Trumpies actually cheered that in his pep rallies. But hill’s the one who needs to be locked up.
