Did Obama take leadership responsibility for the economy
by taking actions to turn around the economy that he inherited when he took office?
What leadership responsibility has Trump taken with regards to combating Russia's election meddling efforts?
I'm not sure where you get the idea that I want him to have a news conference detailing everything done to tighten up our elections (I don't). A good starting point would be for Trump to unequivocally state: "What the Russian government, led by Putin, did to interfere in our 2016 election is unacceptable." (And not follow that up with praise for Putin.) He can't even bring himself to do that.
The indictments against the 12 GRU officials could mean dick if Trump had the balls to ask Putin to extradite them when the leaders meet tomorrow. Additionally, laying out more specifics, including naming specific individuals and government departments involved in the hacking, adds quite a bit of weight to the intel assessment done a year and a half ago that initially blamed Russia.
As far as ties to Mueller's investigation into collusion...he didn't indict the Russians and then close the investigation. Without indicting Russians there would absolutely be no collusion because the Russian side of it didn't exist. Indicting Russians with the investigation still ongoing neither proves nor disproves collusion with the Trump campaign, but is a key element that would be required for collusion to be possible.
Trump campaign adviser Roger Stone has also admitted that he is "probably" the US "person who was in regular contact with senior members of the presidential campaign of Donald J. Trump" in the indictments, which is hardly "no connection" to the campaign.
