themselves in a case like this, because it is not helpful. It's one thing if we're actually talking about racism - like the Cville situation last year. Then, racism is the elephant in the room. That's not what we're talking about here - this is about hurricane response in PR vs the response last year in Texas. Whatever the gap in the responses were, who's to say what the cause is? When anti-Trumpies bring racism up, it becomes the whole argument.

Hard to agree with JohnHoo that hurricane response in PR was adequate, when so much of the Island was without power for damn close to a year, still no reliable power and infrastructure, and there actually are independent studies confirming that people died who would probably otherwise not have if the response were more like we'd expect to a hurricane on the mainland.

That's not all Trump's fault. PR's problems, especially with the power grid, long predate Trump. There is actually a constructive conversation to be had. But it would begin with a president who can live in the real world instead of one created by his imagination, where everything he does is always the best ever. We can't even get this clown to acknowledge the problem, so how can we hope to solve it, improve, etc?

That's not hardheadedness. Frankly, it's lack of fitness for the office to which people elected him. Like I say above, the constant race baiting is not useful, but it's not the problem. The president is in fantasy land whether or not racism is inferred as the cause of his failures. The president is the problem - across the full range of his duties, because he doesn't even acknowledge reality.
