Of course the expansion of the gap is because some at the top end have been
wildly successful. Look at the richest Americans. The vast majority of them are wildly successful people who started and grew businesses that made them rich and also employ collectively millions of people. A small minority of the richest Americans inherited their wealth. At the next click down, other affluent Americans are becoming wealthier because of the stock market and housing recovery over the last 10 years. Why is any of this bad. And conversely, if the stock market and/or housing market crashed, you know what would happen... the wealth gap would contract. Please explain to me how that would be a good thing.
