This one (and others in tech) will be tough

First, our lawmakers know absolutely nothing about these businesses. They've put their ignorance on display more than once now.

The big problem? Companies like Facebook, Amazon, Apple wield enormous amounts of market power. They leverage positions (word choice intentional) and engage in practices that seek to undermine the competition in ways that most objective observers would find distasteful. But they also deliver a ton of utility to consumers and they operate in markets that don't lend themselves to traditional HHI-type measures of competitiveness.

We'll see what happens. I think Americans would be better served by (1) spending a lot less time on social media (maybe none), (2) spending less time on their phones, (3) getting out of their houses, visiting brick-and-mortar retailers and mingling with other real humans. That said, I'm probably old fashioned that way! All 3 companies are dangerous in a number of ways (Amazon probably more than others). That said, being big and successful isn't illegal. I do think we need to take a close, hard look the impact Amazon, FB, Apple can have on our lives and our economy- but don't sign me up for the Elizabeth Warren breakup plan just yet
