First, you're right, I should've said legal expression, not legal speech - I was thinking of the stuff that'll put one in prison simply for possessing; legal but repugnant NAMBLA speech vs illegal graphic images of that stuff.

Far as I can tell, Facebook, Youtube, Pinterest, etc weren't created as 'anything goes' public spaces any more than the Sabre was. Boardhost takes the daisy cutter to all sorts of discussions specifically about UVa sports all the time, even on the Edge just this morning. Should he not be allowed to do that? Should Youtube not be allowed to keep off porn or beheadings? Knowing a little of what's out there on the internet, I think you grossly overstate the difficulty of creating a website with legal but awful content. Do you really want Facebook or Youtube or whatever to have no control over their content and be taken over by porn, violence, and extremism, all of which are readily available to those who want them?
