I don’t take too much exception to that, although

in general, the fear of these faceless powerful friends of politicians getting favors to the material detriment of the average joe is overblown, imho.

I do take exception to such hyperbolic nonsense as “they want to be able to make money hand over fist without having to make disclosures, without being regulated, without having to answer to authorities like the EPA, SEC, FTC etc”

Hence my “tinfoil hat” comment. But yes, I share some of your concerns directionally, if not in magnitude.
