You missed the point by a mile. Tax returns are hardly some kind of secret


information. They are provided all the time in various contexts -- be it background investigations, credit applications, etc. The main value in a return as opposed to other forms of income documentations is there is an assumption of accuracy since you have to report to the government under penalty of perjury.

Unless you're committing perjury or fraud and don't want someone digging into it, of course.

Oh, and tax returns get subpoenaed all the time as well. Again, I don't see what you're so worked up over. If Trump wasn't acting shady and had just provided his returns, maybe he wouldn't be litigating subpoenas to get them. And if the state of New York wants to make its state returns available to Congress, not sure what the issue is there either. Congress has a broad investigative authority, as do many of the agencies that Trump is in charge of. Are you opposed to Investigative Demands in general?
