I'll vote for the Bern if that's who I get.
I'll take my chances in an overall center to center-right country with his lefty policies. I think the worst of them won't get through. I could be wrong, but in the world of binary choices, there is nothing Bern can do IMO to match the rising tinderbox all over the world of populist nationalist movements. The world is beginning to push back. The nationalists basically took a beating in the European Parliamentary elections. The Greeks swung away from the populist left (which, interesting to note, was very un-populist in its policies, which did not match the fiery rhetoric), but rejected their nationalists - they went for the center right party.
Defeating Trump could go a long way to ending this worldwide nationalist spasm, which elevates all kinds of risks. There is nothing the Bern can bring that comes anywhere close to the 35 year period commencing in 1910 brought on by the rise of populist militaristic nationalism . Not that it would play out exactly like that in 2020 and after, but you think Trump is bad now? Wait until he doesn't have to stand for re-election. That will be Trump unleashed.
