The number of football players that would get compensated beyond


the value of their scholarship in a 'free market' is pretty high I think. There are 350 or so 4 and 5 stars annually, any nationally ranked, top 1,000 recruit would have some market value. I don't think that's a good argument on its own to ditch amateurism, and taken across all sports it's not a majority of athletes, but more than a select handful of Trevor Lawrences would get paid in that sport if it were legal. Anyone on a P5 or high G5 roster, maybe more.
