Honestly, it doesn't matter. Problem with John's post - it's an example of

how we take a violation of what once was considered minimally acceptable behavior in a president, for a good 50 years, and normalize it.

Trump bombards us with the unacceptable. And shit like this - maybe just weariness at constantly objecting to it - is how the unacceptable becomes normal.

Like demanding a foreign ally, which is in an existential war with a common and much more powerful foe which we know interfered in our last election, investigate a purely made up conspiracy theory if they want to get continued aid. Military aid that was suspended, mystifying all members of our foreign policy community.

The answer isn't "oh, this happens all the time". It doesn't, and the biggest threat of this clown and his endless challenges to acceptable governance, is that we tune out and participate in the normalization.
